I love shikakai powder and this one is of great quality. I use shikakai powder as an every day shampoo. I mix it with a bit of water to make a light paste, apply it to my scalp and leave it for a few minutes before rinsing. I have very oily hair and have to wash it every day. I tried all kinds of shampoos from chemical to naturals ones. I even tried no poo for alittle bit and nothing really worked well. Shikakai cleans my hair just as well as a regular chemical shampoo (without the chemicals polluting the environment and damaging my hair). I still have to wash my hair every day, but at least it doesn't hurt it. I still use a regular shampoo once in a while (about every 2 weeks) to clean up hair product. This particular shikakai powder is very fine and pure. Highly recommended.

I have been struggling with stress lately, so that dandruff flakes appeared. I tried this product and since the first use, my hair scalp was clean of dandruff flakes. The consistency of the paste you make, will make it easer or less easy to apply. I like to use less water for a more firm paste as a mask when I have more time to leave it on, and for everyday use, I put a little more water to make a more "runny" mixture and use it instead of shampoo.<br /><br />At first, it might seem like you need a lot of water to clean your hair after use... it is only the feeling that it is not clean because of the lack of foam (no foam at all, not even a bubble), but after your hair dries it feels very soft. After some uses, you will know when you have run enough water.<br /><br />WARNING: Be careful with your eyes! Dont let the product get into them as it will burn.. like hell! It happened to me and I spent hours refreshing my eyes until clear again. Since I am a curious monkey, I tried the taste of the mixture... and it left a soapy bitter taste in my mouth, also for hours... so don't do it even if it smells great.
