Beautiful Hairpins!
I purchased 2 of these hairpins (the blue & purple) and they are so gorgeous in person...so much prettier than shown in the pics! They're very sturdy and have just a little "weight" to them because of the metal they're made of...so be aware if you have very fine/thin hair, that you may have to slightly bend the ends to keep them in place. The only thing that I found an issue with about the pins...was that mine didn't have the color of stones in them that are shown in the pics. The pics show the color of stones as blue,pink & green....but my blue hairpin has the colors of blue,white & red stones in it and my purple hairpin has only pink stones in it. There is no advance warning in the description stating that the colors of the stones will vary, so I am bothered that BOTH hairpins I purchased arrived with different colors of stones than are shown in the pictures because those colors shown are one of the main reasons I ordered the pins in the first place. However...both pins are really lovely anyway, so I'm still happy with my purchase, especially since I saw butterfly hairpins that looked almost like these in a store at the Mall and those were priced at $18 each but weren't as pretty as these are. Just wish that the seller would have stated up front & been honest about any substitutions or variance in the colors of the accent stones. One other thing.....the "stems" of these pins are about 4 1/2"-5" long (really long for hairpins).. so if you have hair that is shorter than shoulder length and/or very fine...you will have trouble hiding the stems of the pins unless you bend them up into your hairstyle. My hair is just past my shoulders and very thick and I could just barely hide the stems when I put the pins thru a bun. The length can be trimmed off with wire-snips and then filed to soften the cut,though...and that actually made the pins "sit" better for me. Now when I put my hair up in a bun, I insert the shortened pins and it looks like a gorgeous little butterfly is "floating/sitting" in the center or top of it. Very pretty to dress up a quick & simple bun! And these would be excellent accent pieces for little girls for pageants (would definitely need to be snipped to shorten them for children), older girls for prom & Spring Fling dances, and even for Spring weddings.
