I bought this set about 5 months ago. A friend and I did this treatment to eavhotherโs Hair once in October and again in December. We both had fabulous results but learned a few things:<br />My experience:<br />I have wavyish hair that has been colored every 10 weeks or so for the past 15 years. Itโs shoulder length and fine strands but I have a lot of hair.<br />The first application was applied as directed and I used my CHI flat iron (only gets to 392 degrees according to advertising) and I left the treatment in for 2 overnights. The process took about 3.5 hours for both of us with one ty of distractions and interruptions from our kids. While the product was still in my hair, each day I would re-straighten my hair. When I washed it the first time, it was like heaven. The results were phenomenal and my morning hair-routine went from 30-45 minutes down to about 5, no exaggeration. My hair dried quickly and perfectly straight and I used the flat iron for a few touch-ups around my face. I made the mistake of assuming the shampoo and conditioner I was using st this time was sulfate-free... I was wrong ๐. The results were great for about 3 weeks then I realized my error and couldnโt wait to get together with my girlfriend again to re-do. In December I did the second treatment the same way and this time I washed my hair the following day. The results were just as good as leaving it in for 2 nights so I donโt think the length of time you wait before washing has anything to do with effectiveness. However, by โwashingโ I mean I rinsed the stuff out of my hair thoroughly and then applied the mask and rinsed that and styled - so it wasnโt really washing I guess. Following this second treatment I used CHI Keratin shampoo and conditioner and applied the treatment mask that comes with this set about 1x week and the results have lasted about 7+ weeks. The aftercare products are VERY important in my experience! I just did a Keratin treatment at home yesterday (using a different brand just to compare/contrast) and Iโm anxious to see if the results are the same.<br />My Friendโs experience:<br />She has shoulder-length hair that is occasionally colored. Her hair is thick and courser than mine with a very, very slight wave - just enough to require a flat iron to look polished.<br />Following the treatment she couldnโt stand the feeling of the stuff in her hair so she rinsed it out and used the mask within a few hours of completing the process. She had heavenly results for the first 3 weeks then noticed a decline and realized she, too, had been using the wrong kind of shampoo and conditioner. After the second treatment (which she also washed out immediately) she used a Keratin shampoo and conditioner and used clarifying shampoo an couple times a week and has had consistently amazing results even currently.<br /><br />We each had 2 treatments (4 applications total) and thereโs still enough left in this bottle for another treatment, maybe 2.<br />I think this product is an amazing value and will almost certainly buy again.<br /><br />Added bonus, the treatment mask and clarifying shampoo smell really amazing!<br /><br />I purchased this product with my own money after hours of research and comparing products - no freebies here (although Iโm not opposed to receiving them ~ hint-hint ๐)
I highly recommend this product if you have curly, dry, brittle, dull and frizzy hair
I didn't buy this treatment from Amazon, but I thought I'd review it since when I browsed it before buying the product I wished it had a good review.<br /><br />This keratin treatment did truly what it said it would, my frizz has been 99% tamed and my hair looks and feels soft. It's silky, smooth and shiny. The down side was that my hair was weighed down after washing the treatment. I hope this will go away in the next wash cycle or so. I followed the instructions provided, if your hair is resistant or virgin to keratin I recommend shampooing with the Anti-residue Shampoo (Step 1) twice making it work in your hair for 5 minutes each time. You can then let your hair air dry or blow dry it with either cool/warm/heat setting up to 85-90% (I used a cool setting here). Then apply the treatment (Step 2) with a fine comb after sectioning your hair, make sure not to get it too close to the scalp unless you're combing it upwards fast. The key thing here is to not let the solution drip down to your scalp or skin otherwise it will burn and cause irritation. A bit of an advice here, if you have vaseline I'd recommend applying it to the skin area that's close to hair line avoiding touching any of your hair (of course this is optional). Try not to over saturate, once all your hair has been coated well with the treatment without over saturating use the cool/warm but NOT the heat setting in your blow dryer to fully dry the product before using the flat iron. You can use your fingers to help with the drying and not a brush/comb. The ironing step is crucial here, you want to make sure that every strand is straight and coated with the heat from the iron 8-10 times. This ensures a straight hair after washing the treatment, so move the flat iron on each section 8-10 times on a perpendicular angle from the scalp. Once it's all straight, you can go ahead and wash your hair with warm water ensuring to scrub your scalp with your fingertips to get rid of all the solution out of your hair, then towel dry (no water dripping) before applying the "Repair Mask" (Step 3). With the last step, apply the mask generously all over then massaging it to your scalp and ensure the ends are covered too. You can wrap a plastic/shower bag and warm dry towel (I warmed my towel in the dryer first) and leave it on for at least 30 minutes or longer (I left mine close to an hour). You can comb the mask to make sure every strand is well covered.<br /><br />In case you were wondering, you don't have to keep your hair straight when you apply Step 2 (Keratin Treatment), in fact once you've done a section you can swirl it back and clip it. For me, when I coated all my hair I took the clips out and combed my hair again before blow drying. Then after washing the mask thoroughly I left my hair to air dry, but you can use a heat setting here if you want to.

Not as effective as the professional brands but it does make hair softer and more manageable. Make sure you use a fan while applying product and blow drying/flat ironing. A lot of fume which burns the eyes. Blow the fumes away from face!!
