our new favourite books!
We absolutely LOVE these books! I read them aloud to my daughter who was just learning to read and now she likes to read them on her own. Anyone within ear shot would stop to listen, the stories are so engaging (and I had to use great restraint to no pre-read them lol!). We tell everyone about them.<br />The stories are about a little girl whose parents are Canadian & African and she's growing up in Africa and visits Canada in one of the books. They are so so accurate and the author is an awesome story teller.<br />We can totally relate to all of the stories because we're an African/Canadian family living in Africa too!<br />There are 4 more books after these. They're definitely all worth reading!!

By far my favorite young readers series! These are beautiful undiscovered treasures that all children and their parents should read. Funny, interesting, compassionate, and with delightful drawings. Anna Hibiscus lives in Africa with her very large family, and each short story settles us into another world full of love and adventure.
