I don't give 5 stars easily. This is one of the best bang for your buck shave creams, and this is coming from a bit of a shave snob. Deep, rich lather to go with a deep, rich smell. In fact, one of the best creams I've smelled and used in the last 5 years. I'm usually a TOBS user, and I think the lather beats TOBS.
Try it, you won't be dissapointed
I love this. The smell is great and it leaves my skin silky smooth. Will definately buy again when I finish this one
Superior Shaving Cream
The delicately-scented lavender and vanilla shave cream is my favorite out of at least 10 different soaps and creams I have used. It lathers quickly, goes on smoothly using my silvertip badger brush, and forms a slick, creamy substance. Shaving with Apothecary 87 is a pleasure.
Nice lather and pleasant scent
I really like this shaving cream, although I don't get either sandalwood or vanilla from the scent. The scent is very nice, however. A tiny bit lathered up very nicely with a brush and a bowl, and the scent is strong enough to enhance the shave without being overpowering. I shave before I shower, and even after the shower, I still had the scent with me. I suppose that's a bit of a double-edge sword, as some people might not want the scent with them all day, but I like it.
Classic scent, smooth skin
The scent is tremendous. Very classic barbershop.<br />Your skin feels soft but strong afterwards, pairs well with the shave oil.
Smells like victory! Feels like a million bucks!
I purchased this from another site (Modern Man UK) at a lower price. But about the product itself... fantastic. Absolutely wonderful. It has more of a "croap" type of texture, and very easily picks up on my badger brush, forming a dense, slick lather. I don't normally do as well on the first go, as every soap/cream has its quirks -- but this one performed brilliantly on my first try. Not only that, but I also decided to use this in combo with a brand new razor (an EJ) and a new blade (which can sometimes a bit rough on first use), both bad ideas when you're trying a new cream/soap for the first time. Too many adjustments. All those risks aside, the shave went PERFECTLY. Not a nick, weep or burn. Just a nice, clean shave and a fine smelling mug to show for it!<br /><br />Be aware that the scent can seem a bit strong while in use, but it tones down very nicely after shaving -- which makes me really appreciate the care with which the manufacturer scents their products. As for the scent itself -- I took a while to really take to it, as again, it comes across a bit overpowering at first -- but it mellows into something unique -- all at once sweet, woodsy and spicy, but decidedly masculine -- if that makes any sense. I highly recommend this product.
