It is the best match to the discontinued Burt's Bee Bay Rum

This Gilbert Henry Bay Rum Cologne smells like a real Bay Rum cologne. It is the best match to the discontinued Burt's Bee Bay Rum I have found yet and I have tried over ten different Bay Rums. I know it is not cheap, but this is the Bay Rum to buy and the cologne goes a long way.<br />I am buying it again.<br /><br />Please note the difference in the types of men's "scents."<br />The least powerful is the "spray;" next is "aftershave;" then "eau de Cologne;" (aka "eau de Toilette;" same thing), then the most concentrated and powerful, and expensive, is the "Eau De Parfum". So you could buy the same brand, but depending on what it is, it could be a completely different "power" of the "scent."

the smell was like new plastic...but changed very nicely

When I first used this...the smell was like new plastic, but it faded into a nice scent. Not a very strong scent, but pleasant. Only mildly reminded me of other Bay Rum after shaves and colognes. I would get this again and will be using more when I apply it. It changes after 15 minutes to a nice mild bay rum scent. It's a classic Bay Rum smell...not spicy at all...no cloves and cinnamon. This combined with Captain's Choice Cat O Nine Tails aftershave is a perfect match. They smell a lot alike.

RIP Gilbert Henry?!?!?!

The Gilbert Henry website is dead, and it looks like the last few bottles here are the end of the supply. Total bummer. First I lost Dominica Bay Rum, then Bert's Bees, and now Gilbert Henry. I really dig a clove-heavy, spicy (not sweet) bay rum. And so the search begins anew. Again.

Have tried many, this is easily the best to us.

Got this after liking the balm. I like the natural ingredients is why I choose it in the first place. Natural bay rum is very expensive and is why not much is added or synthetic is used in others. This makes for a lot of different smells. What one likes the other does not. I actually add a very very small amount of Walkins Real Vanilla to mine because I like vanilla. Some would not. Never received any negatives. Never noticed any sticky but I put it below and in front of my ear and use talcum powder. My 2nd bottle and is not expensive for real cologne. Have you priced real cologne? This is a bargain. Only one both me and wife to agree on. 5 stars to us.
