I have never used polish previously and I purchased this on a friendly recommendation. I don't have anything to compare this with. It performs well enough and I like it more than I thought I would. I The bristles aren't too stiff, and it's easy enough to get into the nooks and crannies.<br /><br />Overall, I am happy with the purchase and the condition my boots are left in.
