Love/Hate Relationship

I love it and I hate it. Watching the youTube video on how to apply this is a must: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SUgkvYOyNIs The first time I applied this polish, I didn't even know there was a video or special instructions for it. It was a disaster, the polish bubbled up and peel right off, like I had put elmer's glue on it. It also stains your skin and anything else it manages to get on. I love the colors and the metallic foal effect. It's worth continue to try again and again to get it right. I think I'll be looking for a no-wipe top coat to use with these as well. If the top coat is not fully cured when you go to wipe of the tacky layer, it cause what looks like water spotting on your nail. The instruction to apply this are found in the youtube video from Bundle Monster, but I will include them here as well: Application Instructions: 1 .Prep nails by pushing back cuticles and buffing surface of nails to get rid of any natural oils and shine. Wipe nails with alcohol or nail polish remover for a clean start. 2.Apply a thin layer of base coat to prepped, oil-free nails and cure under lighting system. 3. Apply a thin layer of top coat and cure again. 4. Shake the metallic gel polish for 30 seconds to mix the metallic elements before application. 5. For best results, apply metallic gel polish using a three stroke method, starting from the center base to the free edge of nail. Be sure to not overlap each stroke when applying the metallic color gel. Cure metallic color gel for 60 seconds in a LED system (2 minutes in UV). 6. Repeat by adding another thin layer of color to nails and cure. Seal the color with a thin layer of top coat and cure. Quick Nail Tips: -If you have a top coat that has a sticky residue after curing wipe dry with alcohol before metallic gel application. -For best results, thin (almost transparent), slow, non-overlapping strokes of polish while applying this metallic gel create better, even color coverage. -Gently touch the surface of the nail after curing metallic gel to ensure the product is dry if not cure again. Drying time may significantly change according to application. When in doubt, cure again! -Only apply top coat gel to absolutely dry cured metallic gel, applying top coat to wet/ partially wet metallic polish will not achieve the same metallic effect.

Not Your Average Polish

This is my 3rd set of these and I'm still in awe of how beautiful they are. These are definitely the most trickiest to work with though. You should apply a gel base and top coat before polish. Let the polish settle for a bit before you cure and avoid overlapping your brush strokes. Patience and precise application are key. Manic Talons has an excellent guide for application. The end result is definitely worth the extra time and effort. Still not sure if this is actually a gel polish but I'm guessing because of the use of gel products for proper effect, it's categorized as a gel.
