Best for thick hair

I'm not posting pictures because so many others have; like them, I did not receive the vent through brush but the rubber-backed brush. While I found it hard to figure out what I actually got, given that in two places it claimed "boar bristle" and in one said it was made of nylon and rubber, it works fairly well to detangle my hair - something that usually I have to relegate to combs. The boar bristles are short with longer nylon bristles that do the detangling. It doesn't work at all well for my mother, whose hair is thinner than mine.
