Fine scissors, worth the expense

Very nice nail scissors. Comfortable. The curvature, like surgical scissors, makes it quite effective. It could be a bit sharper (I took a star off for that), but it can be made sharper very easily. Maybe I am being too harsh. Still, don't get me wrong; it can be used as soon as you receive it and it will do a nice job. I think it's best for fingernails, but it will also work on toenails. I mentioned surgical scissors (iris scissors) because it resembles those, although the iris scissors are more slender. The Boker scissors are 3 and 3/4 inches in length (9.5 cm). The width at the base, with the scissors closed, is 1 and 7/8 inches (5 cm). The blades are just over 1 inch in length (about 2.6 cm). With the curvature of the blades pointing inward, in the cutting position, I like to use my thumb and the ring (4th) finger, which gives more stability than using the middle finger. It might sound unusual, but I suggest you try it that way. I would think it will make a fine gift and will be much appreciated. Remember that the security people at airports will surely take it away from you.
