A great scent that lasts...
Saw this in Campannis Brazil. Almost bought it but purchased another Malbec at the O Boticario in the largest mall in Brazil. This is my favorite. It is aged in oak casks where Malbec wine had been made. This is a 2019 scent and hard to find in the US; I bought the only one on Amazon. Do try it when it becomes available.<br /><br />It says on the description it is Pascal Gaurin scent. Top notes are lemon, cinnamon, ginger, juniper, and cardamom. Middle notes are geranium, sage and base is sandalwood, amber, cashmeres, olibanum, patchouli, vanilla, and benzoin...
Surprisingly good
I heard this was similar to one of favorites, Bvlgari Man in Black. It’s not, and that’s not a bad thing. There is a passing similarity during the first seconds of the opening and then they quickly diverge. Frankly, I think it’s awesome.<br /><br />To me this has some nice freshness in the opening. I was expecting spiciness so I was initially disappointed but I’ve grown to really like it.<br />It has some wine-like sweetness, similar to its name sake although their aren’t any wine accords listed in the notes. (I am familiar w/the unique alcohol used but I really don’t know how much that effects the profile)<br /><br />As it dries down it interacts with my skin really well, it develops this really nice slightly resinous tone.<br /><br />Personally I use this during the day. It can be used at night, although I have so many evening fragrances this isn’t my first choice but it could easily fill that role. It reminds me of sharing a bottle of great wine with friends.<br /><br />In the end, I took a chance on a brand that isn’t too popular outside of Brazil and I believe it paid off. And to top it off the presentation is quality. The flacon has a nice soft-touch finish and the sprayer is decent.<br /><br />This won’t appeal to everyone. It’s not particularly similar to today’s designer frags. But if you want something unique to add to your collection I highly recommend giving it shot. An affordable, unique fragrance with above average performance.
