Very good razor
When I saw that Buck was making a straight razor, I had to have one. A couple of other reviews said that it does not need honing. I found that while you could shave with it out of the box, the razor really benefited from a few passes on an Escher Followed by stropping this is now smooth and comfortable. It has earned a place on my 7 day rotation<br />Iโll bet if Buck continues to make them, they will only get better
Beautiful razor and perfectly executed.
I have well over 50 straight razors both vintage and currently made. This razor shaved with the top level vintage and currently made razors straight out of the box. Buck and Caleb Cooper did an absolutely beautiful job on this razor. Not surprised as Iโm also a Buck collector. However I have seen other knife makers venture into the straight razor world and fail miserably. Buck did not. I canโt compliment them enough on this beautiful fit and finished product that is both functional and beautiful. I hope they keep a straight razor line going beyond limited edition.

A superlative shaver.
Shaving sharp out of the box. Nice feel to scales light and very ergonomic design. Blade is nicely designed as well. Overall very pleased with this purchase.
Buck 039 Salient
There's a lot of comment about this razor all over the net. Most seem to be from the 'Know All Guys'. You know the type. Guys sporting man buns, skinny jeans, coffee snobs.....etc.<br />Here's my take. It was ready to shave out of the box. But shaved better after a little honing. It's made well. Solid. As you'd expect a Buck product to be.<br />This is my first straight razor and I love it. Never go back to the cartridge.
