I really like this gem of a product âēī¸

I'll admit that I was mostly drawn to this product because I liked the packaging. (I have a weakness for items that "glam up" my medicine cabinet). Luckily though, I fell in love with the contents inside just as much as the container itself. At first, the rose scent was a little concerning. I usually avoid products containing heavy fragrance, but once the powder is mixed with water the smell dissipates and more importantly there wasn't any residual oil left on my skin afterward. Which, usually happens after using a "perfumed" mask/ cleanser. It also exfoliates without leaving your face feeling stripped or dry. A major plus, considering most products that label themselves as "gentle" often fall short of their claim.<br /><br />I would recommend applying before a shower. Let it set and rinse once you're inside. The steam really seems to aid in it's effectiveness.
Leaves your skin brighter, cost effective to use, a gentle exfoliant
I am 58 and have had clogged pores since my thirties. Tiny white bumps cover my face,back and chest and get much worse after using any sunblock. I've gone to countless dermatologists who shuffled me to overworked anesthetists who all gave me peels which irritated my already red (almost rosacea) skin around my nose, lips and chin. Tazorac cream (a retinoid) helps a bit but I had to investigate skin care on my own.<br />Until this product, I've been using Kiehls Rare Earth Deep Pore cleansing Masque weekly. It has a thick, mud texture and did help. It costs almost the same as this product.<br /><br />The plus with Capt Blankenship is:<br />-rather than use 1 full tsp to one tsp water, I was able to use 1/4 tsp to 1/4 tsp water and fully cover the clogged areas on my nose, chin, cheeks and forehead. This means this will last me 4-6 times longer than Kiehls product, a big savings<br />-I like the rose smell a lot<br />-it applies as a dry mask whereas the Kiehls is more moist. I have oil/sebum collection in my pores so this is excellent for me. For a person with dry skin am unsure if this would be as effective (might be)<br />-my skin looked brighter upon removal- almost like a vit C treatment. That didn't happen for me with the Kiehls mask nor any other masques (and I have tried a lot)<br /><br />The negative is having to mix it up. I don't mind this at all- but I also buy vit C powder and mix my own vit C peels myself.
