The Pretty Soap is Worth It

I love Castelbel violet soap -- they offer at various times and places wild violet, spring violet, and violet blossom,in different pretty wrappings, so I buy whatever is available from sellers on Amazon or when it's (rarely) available at our local TJ Maxx. It's a nice big fat triple-milled quality bar, usually oval (the Spring Violet type is rectangular) which lasts both in the shower and on the bathroom sink, and Castebel adheres to genuine violet fragrance, not the hideously sweet vanilla additives so many other soap companies use.<br /><br />Only drawback: if you can find any fragrance of Castelbel soap in the TJ Maxx and Marshall stores, it's a terrific bargain, $4.99 I think, but from any seller on line it's much more expensive, plus shipping cost. Just one of those things where the rarity of a favorite scent ups the price -- the Maxx and Marshall places tend to stock their shelves only, in fact exclusively, with rose, vanilla, and lavender fragranced soaps and lotions so one really has to shop on line if they happen to find such ubiquitous scents loathsome. If the brick and mortar stores boo-hoo about losing business, they deserve it, with their appallingly limited stock these days. Best to dish out more money and get what one wants from ordering on-line.
