A safe and close shave
I'm always very cautious when I test the safety guards on sharp cutting tools but after my first use of this manual nose hair trimmer, I could immediately tell that it's impossible to hurt oneself with this item. In addition to the safety guard, the material is not prone to slipping even when operating with wet hands and is lighter in weight than a battery powered trimmer.<br /><br />For me, it takes a maximum of 4 manual squeezes on the trimmer action to clear all the nose hair from a single nostril. Because I'm not worried about cutting the sides of my nostril I tend to press the trimmer against the wall of my nostril as I squeeze the trimmer which results in a very close shave. From an evolutionary standpoint, nostril hair is important to filter out particulates when you inhale, so you may not want to cut your nose hair as short as I do; also a short cut may result in itchy stubble. Since this is a manual trimmer, you have fine control over how much nose hair you choose to trim.<br /><br />The little brush included does a good job of sweeping hair out of the trimmer.<br /><br />Full disclosure: I can only review this product as a nose trimmer. I do not intend to use this product in my ear canals because I currently do not have hair growing out of them (thank goodness).
