Color is darker than expected

I like the simplicity of the stencil and how it nicely shaped the brows. I bought the lightest of the three colors and it is darker brown than expected or what it looks like on the site. Had to dab the sponge on a tissue before applying to the face to help lighten the dark brown which I feel like wastes a lot of product.
