The "Dirty Brown" is good match for Ash Brown. If you like a messy look, this is a good choice

My natural hair color is light to medium Ash Brown, depending on how manufacturers label their colors. (Unfortunately, there's not alot of uniformity in the industry when it comes to color labels). I look for #8 if the color number is given. Even then, you can NEVER be sure unless you see it in person, and Ash Brown is particulary hard to find. The picture of the "Dirty Brown" bun looked to be a close match to my hair, but the pictures often lie, too,....and "Dirty Brown"?? In all my searches for ash brown hair pieces, this is the first "Dirty Brown" color label I've come across. I took a chance, and it is ALMOST a perfect match to my hair color. Even though it doesn't say that the Dirty Brown piece is ombre dyed, IT IS, and the lighter ends would not be my choice. Still, the darker "roots" of the piece are almost perfectly matched to mine, so I think I can pass it off as real. I have very fine hair, and I do NOT like thick hair pieces. That's another hard thing to find,....hair pieces that aren't unrealistically thick and "weighty"! This piece is full, but not TOO full, not so thick that it looks fakey or heavy. The "messy" feature is definitely very messy, the hair is completely straight and a bit spiky looking, yet very soft to the touch. The center opening is too big, the elastic to loose for me to wear it over my own ponytail or bun without additional fasteners. I use a couple hidden bobby pins at the top of the piece to secure it to my own hair. It's easy to do and unnoticeable but can sometimes get a little heavy and "pulling" if worn for hours. I change the position of the bobby pins, move them off to the sides, if it starts to bother me, so it's not a deal breaker. This messy bun (more like a mess pony) is very well suited for around home, when running errands, or for any casual event with casual dress. I don't think it would work well (and I would not choose it) for more formal events or dressier attire. I really, really like this piece! 95% of my life is "casual", and I know I'll get alot of wear out it. These things don't last forever, so when I find an affordable piece that matches my natural hair color and my life style, I usually go back and get a "spare". That's a winner in my world, and this one got a medal, so I'm back to buy the spare!
