It seems like its crafted from one piece of wood and the hair pin has a smooth finish so it won't snag on the hair.<br />The Hair sick comes is housed in red velvet pouch and comes readily packaged in a black gift box.<br />For the price this seems like a good bargain for hair pin fanatics like me-Cannot recommend this enough

Very pretty and does what I purchased it for

I really like the look of this carved hair stick. I actually didn't use it for my hair, so I can't say how sturdy it is. I used it to hold my shawl together and it looks very pretty and does a great job.
