Hahaemall Hardware Works Great
I searched long and hard for barn door hardware that would look great and not cost too much. The hahaemall hardware turned out to be an excellent choice for my project. The quality is excellent with heavy construction and a durable, smooth paint finish. I was initially concerned about the shipping times listed on Amazon (about 4-6 weeks), but it arrived much sooner than the standard shipping times in less than two weeks. Even better, I had a special request and emailed hahaemall before I ordered it. They totally helped me out and gave me exactly what I needed. A few things I learned from this project: 1) a pre-made panel would have saved me a ton of time. I glued together a bunch of tongue and groove boards and the end result was basically what a pre-made panel would have been. 2) The optimal thickness of the door is about 1 inch to work best with the geometry of the roller hardware. For that reason, a 6-inch cross board aligned at the top would have been better than the 4-inch cross board mounted below the roller hardware bracket. The solution will be to add a small spacer between the door and the roller hardware. Overall, my experience with Hahaemall was fantastic with quick email responses and faster shipping times than expected. Ordering it from China directly turned out to be no big deal at all.
