Makes a bad chore still a bad chore
I love using fine teeth combs on my dog. The wood handle is not ergonomically correct, but it is easy to grip and looks prettier than the plastic ones or the handleless ones.<br /><br />It doesn't make fighting my dog to comb through her hair any easier, but makes me happier.
This removes everything
Wow. This comb takes out chunks of fur. Your cat may or may not approve.
Great for Barbies
I know this comb is meant for pets, but I actually ordered it for my daughterโs Barbieโs. The metal teeth are very strong and do a great job of getting out all of the knots. I am sure it works great for pets too!
Great for tangles
I actually got this comb to help me in combing out my locs. Iโm really impressed with how well itโs been holding up. The fine teeth really allow me to work them in to the knots so I can get them out, and they are sturdy enough not to break.<br />Given that, Iโm sure theyโll work well for a pet.
Perfect for dreadlocks
I know this is for pets, but a lot of people use lice combs, or flea combs for dreading hair. I've tried other flea pet combs over the years, so many brands, and they all break really easily, or the teeth bend/break. This one is quality, seriously! It's sturdy, perfect weight, and rounded so even ergonomically it's solid. I've gotten hours of use out of it and still haven't encountered any issues. A lot of comb teeth are also on the sharp side, not this one, it's great. Slightly rounded teeth, so I'm sure it's not going to be hard on your pets skin. I'll likely purchase another just to use on my cats, but for now I'm using mine for dreads -those of you who are looking for a good dread comb, I've used this on human, and synthetic hair with equally excellent results. Would recommend.
Amazingly Effective De-shedding Comb, but BE GENTLE!
I ordered the long sparse-teeth comb for my golden retriever. I didnโt expect this comb to be anything special and am still a bit mystified by how effective it is as a de-shedder/de-tangler. It doesnโt look like anything special, but somehow the teeth create a โdragโ as you run it through thick fur. I have used lots of metal combs over the years and I have never had one that gripped the hair quite like this. My dog is combed or brushed almost daily to keep the shedding down, but look how much fur came out in 10 minutes! Iโm really glad I got the sparse-teeth comb; if the teeth were denser, I donโt think it would have worked at all on thick fur. (Maybe the dense teeth would be okay for a very smooth-haired dog or cat.)<br /><br />This comb needs to be used with care. The teeth are a little too sharp for my taste, so you need to use this comb gently to avoid inadvertently scraping your dogโs (or catโs) skin โ I would say a *minimum* 45-degree angle to make sure the ends of the teeth donโt make straight-on contact with the skin. Also, you need to go *slowly* so you donโt end up pulling out non-loose hair. As long as I went slowly and gently, my dog did not seem at all uncomfortable with the process, but he is probably the most patient dog in the world and is used to being groomed daily. If your dog is fidgety or you want something for quick daily combing sessions, I would suggest you try something a little less aggressive.<br /><br />I give this 5 stars as a de-shedder/de-tangler, but would not recommend it for daily use as a โregularโ comb.
Great Hairbrush for your Doggy
This is a very nice brush with sturdy metal bristles. It is fastened into the wooden handle pretty good and I don't forsee it coming undone anytime soon. Great pick up for my shih tzu!
