I have thick, very fine hair. What this means is that while my hair is naturally flat and super straight, I have a lot of it. A huge challenge for me is getting my hair to hold curl. Heated solutions damage my delicate follicles, and they don’t last. So my best bet is to get my hair wet and dry it into a curl. However, it’s tricky because my hair is so fine it holds the water for a long time, and takes forever to dry, and when it’s wrapped up in any way it takes longer to dry because my hair isn’t being exposed to as much air. So obviously the best solution when I was a kid was my mom would put my hair in rollers at night and I’d have to sleep on them in order to have curls in the morning. They were not comfortable.<br />So anyway, I started seeing products like this in social media ads but they only had two places where you wrap you hair, which I knew wouldn’t work for me because if the issues mentioned above. My hair isn’t even that long, it’s just past shoulder length. So I searched on Amazon and found this one with more places to wrap my hair. It works okay for me, though I often still supplement it with other curlers, especially for my bangs. I also have issues with the elastics at the end being secure enough so I’ve started using the plastic piece of old foam rollers to crimp the ends together. (See photo) This is not a perfect solution of course because with the plastic it is once again not comfortable to sleep on. I do like that it never gets caught in my hair though, which has been an issue with many types of rollers. Overall it’s the best solution I’ve found for nice curls, but isn’t perfect.
