Easy installation. Uses factory bolt to attach right to center dash cubby. Perfect spot to view your cell. Even fits iPhone 10 plus with case on it. One hand placement if you make sure to twist the holder in the right direction before you tighten the knob down. Excellent form and function. Not tested in off road driving yet but stays in holder during all normal road driving conditions so far and that’s great considering how a Jeep Wrangler rides. Very satisfied.

Easy Installation; Excellent Functionality
Upon researching phone holders for my Wrangler JK, I read some less encouraging stories about installation issues, scratches on the dashboard, issues with power cord clearances at the bottom of the phone as well as stability issues. I found that this one uses an existing bolt in the Jeep dashboard that resides under the factory rubber tray insert on the top of the dash. The factory rubber insert comes out (see attached photo), then a bolt is visible in the bottom of the tray. This bolt is removed, then the phone mount uses the same bolt to fasten it to the dash. In addition, the surface of the holder that comes in contact with the dash has 3M adhesive strips to further hold it steady. Although the factory rubber insert is not used, it still retains a finished appearance because the phone holder uses the bolt for mounting leaving the rest of the tray with a clean appearance. The mount has a ball/socket swivel with a tightener for positioning. Because the grip is a side-to-side design, the phone can be raised to a level where the cord can stay plugged into the bottom of the phone. The width of the grip opens to accept an iPhone 6 Plus with a case, so it's pretty versatile.
