I have very blonde lashes, so mascara is something I wear daily, and because my natural lash color is so light, it's really easy for me to tell when my mascara has worn off. This mascara has good staying power, and it gives me the feathery, long, full lash look that I love. I worked as a Clinique Business Manager for many years, and in addition to all the free make-up Clinique gave us, I was also able to try many different high-end mascaras I normally wouldn't have purchased, such as Lancome, Chanel, & Dior. My favorite back then was Clinique's Long Pretty Lashes which has since been discontinued, and ever since then, I've been on the hunt for my perfect mascara...one that stays on without flaking or clumping, no raccoon eyes, one that has buildable coverage and can also be reapplied without getting gunky. I do not like mascaras that give you twiggy lashes, and because I like my lashes defined and separated, feathery soft and full, I prefer a natural bristle brush over silicone brushes.<br /><br />So as you can tell, I'm very particular about mascara! My favorite before trying this one was Neutrogena's Healthy Volume mascara and Guerlain's Cils D'enfer was a close second, although too pricey IMO. I love this Mamey mascara even more! I had read an interview of Salma Hayek's about Mamey Seed oil which is what led me to this mascara. Although my natural lashes are fairly long, they are also thin and getting sparse with age, so if this stuff helps to regrow them, that will be wonderful! In the meantime though, just using this makes my lashes look amazing! It does feel like my lashes absorb some of the product -- they don't look quite as thick 8 hours or so later, so if I'm going out in the evening, I will reapply, and I love that this goes on so smoothly and clump-free, even hours after the initial application. My lashes also hold a curl much better, and I've never found a mascara that does that for me. I've been using this for a little over a week now and have worn it every day except yesterday when I tried my Neutrogena again just to compare (and it wasn't nearly as good). I don't write a lot of reviews but this Mamey mascara has seriously impressed me - I'll buy it as long as they make it!
