Massage roller=good quality. Gua Sha=average quality.
The quality of the components of the set is not equal. Of the two pieces in this set, the massage roller clearly outshines the gua sha. The massage roller has rich, dark green aventurine/jade stone rollers and center handle. The stones are not highly polished, but there is a natural feel to the jade stones. The metal arms/axles have a metal collar ring where it meets the stone rollers. It may be mostly cosmetic, but it's an attractive visual element. Also, at this juncture is the plastic grommet that better quality massage rollers possess. These grommets act as a bearing for a quiet and smoother rolling action. Perhaps just as important, it serves to protect the stone and metal prong from eroding due to abrasive interaction. The handle seems to be composed of aventurine/jade, too and not plastic/resin material. Very high marks for the massage roller.<br />The gua sha, with a lighter green hue than the massage roller, follows the thinner, flattened design. It's not very polished, with more of a natural stone feel. While this is subject to personal preference, less polish tends to result in less of a glossy appearance, and a surface that is not as smooth. Perhaps as a consequence of this level of polishing, nicks and rough textures are more readily apparent. Such is the case in the gua sha I received. There's a number of nick, pock marks and small scratches on the stone surface. Due to the thin nature of the gua sha, there is less of a gentle rounding of the edges, too. This results in more of a definite edging on the contour of the gua sha (sort of similar to a coin edge). I like the quality of the aventurine/jade stone, but feels it doesn't match the quality of manufacture exhibited by the massage roller.<br />The colors of the pieces are not really in sync. Individually, they are nice examples of their respective massage types. The massage roller has a high quality look and feel, the gua sha falls in the average quality realm.<br />Based on these observations and considerations, this set receives a 4.0 - 4.25 star rating.
