I'm a guy, but I was looking for something that will (hopefully) last long. I initially thought I had simple/easily found criteria for a new hair dryer, but I had trouble meeting them. Based on my previous hair dryer ownership, I noticed there were 2 failures that would come up first, switch failure or motor fan failure. My criteria was looking for a switch that operates like a toggle switch and had the 2 speeds on either end of the off position (LOW - OFF - HIGH). My reasoning for the switches is that the sliding type switch tends to wear out faster. Less cycling of the switch to reach the HIGH setting increases my chance of longer ownership. My other criteria is that it needs to have an AC type motor, rather than the cheaper/low durability DC motor. This hair dryer met them all!<br /><br />At first feel, the lightly rubber body coating was nice, felt premium and not sticky. Weight was on the heavier side compared to the cheaper models I owned before. Quality electronics tend to be heavier and an indication of quality materials. When I first turned it on, I noticed it sounded like those found in salons, and the motor felt and sounded strong (lots of torque). Fan flow was also strong. 3 heat settings made it fully adjustable. I found that some of the attachments had trouble staying attached, especially the comb. I liked the fact that it comes with a filter. A nice feature is that it comes with a Velcro loop for cable management. Some other interesting thing is that there's a small blue LED on top when the hair dryer is on. The infrared bulb turns on in the Medium and High heat settings, there's no option to turn this off. It does dry my hair quickly and my hair does feel better/softer compared to my previous hair dryer.<br /><br />If you are initially looking for a hair dryer in the $20-30 range, definitely consider this! I love this hair dryer
I love this hair dryer! I bought this one because I was tired of my cheap one taking forever to dry my hair and my hair being super frizzy from it. I have thick long hair and this dryer cut my time from about 25 minutes to about 7-10. My hair is less frizzy even tho there is still some frizz. The infrared red took some time to get used to, I blinded myself a couple times but I got used to it. I like that the buttons are on the handle so it makes it easy to switch from high heat to low ext. Another plus for me is that it wasnโt overly loud like other dryers Iโve had. Overall I would recommend this product.
