Lotion Making Kit

Nice kit for beginners/parent child activity

I purchased this for my 7 year olds birthday. We got around to doing it tonite, finally. Overall, we were very pleased with this kit. Make sure the water temp and oil temps are spot on, add them and mix. Let sit, mix, let sit, mix, let sit, mix, etc. I was surprised how simple it was. It's nice how they combine oils and make everything into convenient packets of mixtures. Not having to measure really helps you focus on making the actual product while still keeping my daughters attention. She enjoyed this very much and was so eager for us to be able to stop mixing it and bottling it up.<br />My only gripe is the amount of lotion. We wanted to play with scents, so we used flavor oils we found in our cupboards. But, because they are tiny 2 oz jars, it was difficult to experiment with different scents. We did end up just taking out 2 oz of lotion, scenting, bottling, repeat. But, it was kind of annoying. For double the price of this kit, I saw another kit that makes 4x this amount of lotion. But, I believe ingredient wise, this kit is better. I love that this company chooses a natural preservative and that they use essential oils for scent. (It only comes with 1 scent - lavender) To make this kit better, they should increase the amount of lotion this makes and maybe offer a variety of essential oils to make a few different scents. I also wasn't quite clear on if they used unrefined or refined mango butter, but considering the small amount, it's not a huge deal. For the first timer, this is a great intro to DIY AND THE BEST PART: the lotion is lovely!! Makes my hands so soft and isn't greasy. I'm going to try making more lotions on my own :) My daughter was so proud and just loved labeling her lotions and giving one to her brothers.
