I goofed
First let me say the product works just fine and was delivered promptly. I at first thought it didn't fit my camera and asked for a refund. No problem. Amazon sent an immediate response and instructions on how to take it to UPS, no charge. On closer inspection I discovered the shoe DOES fit, but comes with a protective slide on/off cap that I didn't see. There were no instructions, so who knew? Anyway, it works fine and all is well. BTW, I recommend keeping the cap in place when not in use. The electronic connection looks delicate.

This product was an inexpensive way to solve the problem of having an incompatible flash for my Sony camera. I didnt have the money to purchase a new flash. This adapter does exactly whats described and I would suggest it to anyone in this situation.
