I wondered about the reviews but this thing works. Plugged it in and tried all three settings. It works perfectly. I actually found it soothing. It heated all over as would be expected. I will be using low or medium because my hair is a little fragile. I thought the high heat really got very warm. This is something I wish I'd bought a long time ago. The cord was longer than I expected too. The picture doesn't reflect size of cap or length of chord very well. Both are generous in size and length.

This is just...the best heating cap on Amazon. I use it with Red Pimento hair growth oil two to three times a week for 30 minutes each since I have male pattern baldness and some thinning hair. Very easy to use, just take the precautions seriously (this is like a hair dryer but it's in the form of a padded cap---so still keep the cord away from water, etc.)<br /><br />I use the hottest setting each time. It's not too hot, but hot enough to heat up Red Pimento oil and increase blood flow to the scalp.<br /><br /> Also this thing does indeed come with a hair cap, which you should absolutely use when using the heating cap. Apply conditioning treatment or whatever you're using, then put the hair cap on, then the heating cap and adjust temperature. Comes with three temperature settings (low, medium, high essentially), and three timer settings (15 minutes, 30 minutes, 60 minutes).<br /><br />Only con is that I would love it if there was a cordless heating cap I could charge via USB, but this is very reasonably priced and works just fine. I just read a book while I have this on usually.

Best $33 I've spent! I have 3c hair and did a real protien treatment w/the heated cap & it heats up fast. Never had a hooded dryer or anything before, this is a first and I Love it!
