I have rock landscaping surrounding my Michigan home, and weeds grow up between the rocks like crazy. I don't like products like Preen and Roundup, so I found a recipe online (1 gallon vinegar, 1 cup salt, 1 T dish soap) that kills vegetation without all the nastiness that commercial chemicals have. They say to spray it on, but I found that pouring it on the leaves of weeds starts killing them in just a few minutes--amazing. But I needed something that I could control the rate of pour with, and these fit the bill nicely. Every week or two (depending upon the rain we get), I fill these up with my mixture, and head out to kill some weeds. It works like a charm, and the bottles make this extremely easy and effective--you can direct the solution right where you want it to go, no waste. A perfect solution for my homemade weed-killing solution!
