This is a wonderful set of combs. It does not state it on the package, but they seem to be the unbreakable type of combs, which is fantastic for professional hair stylist. I believe that this set will work for a stylist that has to work with various hair types because of the 8 different combs that are included in the set. There are rat-tail, one with a metal tip, combs as well as a couple of pick type combs. Some have dual ends for different purposes. For typical home use, these should last virtually a lifetime because of how they are constructed. For salon use, they should last a very long time and is well worth the money. Just a note: some of the combs had a grease-like substance on them, which I assume was part of the manufacturing of them. I know oil is used in the production of plastic and some was likely just missed during the cleaning process or they left some on there for a reason??? Not, sure but it easily wipes off. Nonetheless, this is a very nice set of 8 combs for home, travel or salon use!
