Pretty colors
Colors are super pretty. You get a dark rose, dark green borderlining black, pinkish red, and a black. The dark tones (the green and black are somewhat streaky, but layering the polish solves the issues.)<br /><br />Please excuse how messy I applied the nail polish in the pic. I only needed to apply 1 coat for the bright pink red; all the other colors have 2 coats. (I haven't gotten around to playing with the black yet.) In the 2nd pic, I added a glossy top coat
MAKES ME LOOK CLASSY!
First let me say that this polish does NOT have the strong polish smell like most polishes do. I love the size of the bottles. The colors were amazing. The red and dark green even had a hint of sparkle to them. The burgundy and black are true to their color. Application was easier than some. It did not clump up and only needed 2 coats of color. I did not use a matte top coat and it lasted 8 days before it chipped.
Marvelous Mattes!
This is a nice assortment of matte polishes. They came packaged nicely so they would make great gifts for the nail polish lovers in your life. The color Peacock is interesting. To me, it looks like a very dark blue-green, almost black, with blue-green shimmers in it. Very unique - great winter color! The Dusty Rose color is a staple for your collection - good for everyday wear and safe for most workplaces. Old Flame, my favorite in the collection, is a really cool red-ish color. It is matte, but almost looks satin in some lighting. And, lastly, Back to Black, a classic black matte that everyone should have. The formula is thick, but easy to apply. I prefer 2 coats, but you might be able to get away with one. Finally, I just wanted to mention that the brush is not super skinny, which is good because you get more coverage in one stroke leading to less streaking. Very nice set!
Great Value, Love the Colors
These four colors are great. I especially love the red- it's got a beautiful glow. The dusty mauve is a standard for your collection, and the black is subtle- not too dark to wear whenever. The peacock is lots of fun, but again, not too much for everyday wear. There's a little learning curve to applying matte polish if you've never done it before, but that's true of any matte polish. It's not hard to master in a couple of tries. You can always throw on a matte top coat to extend the wear. I love them with a glossy top coat too, especially the red and the peacock. Considering these are less than $3/bottle, they're a good buy and worth a bit longer shipping time.

Outstanding Matte Nail Polish
These Nicole Diary Matte Nail Polishes are a great value. The colors are beautiful and full bodied. The Peacock is a dark<br />blue with a beautiful subtle shimmer and Old Flame has a warm glow to it. These two polishes subtly reflect the light and are my personal favorites. Dusty Rose and Back To Black are truly matte and have no reflective qualities at all. The formula for these polishes is spot on. Matte polish tends to be slightly thicker than traditional nail polish and can apply thicker. If you're not use to working with matte polish, be patient with yourself. They may require 2 or 3 coats to cover fully and sometimes they can take a while to dry. Another tip for using matte nail polish is to make sure that the surface of your nail is smooth. Matte polish will show lumps and bumps, so use a good base coat. The 9ml bottles are are perfect for easy storage and the brushes are the perfect size. Any of these polishes can be worn with the addition of a matte top coat to extend the wear time or with a glossy top coat for a shiny alternative. Either way they will be a great addition to your nail polish collection.
