Consistent Product - Timely Shipping
Have been buying NOW brand NAC for years. The product is very consistent, and is always shipped in a timely manner.
Excellent Investment
I have been taking NAC for 27 years since I am a smoker. It helps to get the flem out of the lungs. I normally take one a day, however, if I feel congested I take 2-3 capsules a day. This is also good for bronchitis or any other chronic lung congestion. Highly recommend. NOW brand is a very good quality brand and also recommend it as well.
Anxiety Helper
Pros:<br />Some people use this for social anxiety issues. I use it for general anxiety, and it works great in conjunction with my meditation practice. It doesn't make me sleepy, and seems to help with concentration, too. Drinking coffee with this seems to prolong the stimulate effects, as well as removes the jitters.<br /><br />Cons:<br />I'm leary about taking this long term. I need to search for studies on pubmed. I plan to take a month off a few times a year.<br /><br />Overall:<br />I'm very happy with this product.

Effective and Helpful Supplement
My doctor suggested I take NAC along with a prescribed medicine, saying it helped its efficacy. I have taken NAC now for over 10 years. This particular NAC has Selenium and Molybdenum. All I can say is that after a few nights of taking this particular NAC, I woke up one morning very alert, productive, and on-task. My mom told me I was very alert and was doing chores I typically stay away from. I love this effect on me and plan to continue buying this NOW foods brand. I am thankful I found it!
Know why you need to take the pills but I'm happy with the brand
But most of us already do. :) I had read reader comments about how they help people with certain medical conditions in protecting the liver and even detox the body. Not like we ingest mercury on a regular basis, which is one of the reasons NAC is used. Ditto for cleansing of free-radicals. It CAN help people who use certain drugs that can affect the liver as well, but each person and their responses to medications may be different. PLEASE see your doctor beforehand for these sorts of liver-related things and ask, but "NOW" has been a reliable brand from past experience for me.
