Very effective
If you have really thick, curly, or just a lot of hair it can be kind of tough to reach in and grab them to un-spin them, but you can't beat them for the price (2 for $6 for name brand ones!? no thanks). I have long, thick, curly hair that I like to throw up in a loose bun and I need only 2 or 3 of these, as opposed to 10-15 bobby pins.

Trendies value! I had purchased 3 little Spiral pins and loved them for holding my long thick hair in place. At a retail store they cost me $8. When I found these I began passing out little bags of them to my friends. Bobby pins just don't hold your hair up. I'm buying more cuz I love giving them to friends.

Rough edges but great price.
I have two girls with very thick hair that needed a special updo for a dance recital. Even the largest Bobby pins were not holding. These pins did the trick. We did coat the ends with hot glue as suggested by other reviewers because they are very rough and would catch on your hair. Coating in hot glue was worth it to get so many pins for that price the original ones in the store are very pricey!
