Adorable Soaps of Good French Quality

These truly are darling soaps, with fine scent and color, hard-milled, and though very small, not so tiny that they are not the perfect little hand soaps for a "powder room" lavatory or the guests for whom they are intended. Only caveat, the "tiare" is an overwhelmingly powerful aroma based on some tropical Tahitian flower, but it smells more like those garish, loudly vulgar popular perfumes of the 1980's. Separate the soaps as soon as you get them so the violet and the apple-pear don't retain that smell getting on them (it'll fade from the violet and apple-pear and certainly be gone once used in water). As for the other fragrances, the tasteful modest violet is just as pleasing as any French-manufactured "violette" -- not ruined by sweet vanilla -- and the apple-pear was a delightful surprise, delicate and charmingly refreshing. Colors are nice too. I'd love to see this 9-bar soap set again with another "third" soap odor besides the obnoxious tiare, but everyone has a friend, co-worker, or neighbor who likes, and to our distress wears, a bellowing perfume so give those little beige bars to them and consider it a nice way to give a gift and keep "the best" for yourself and your visiting house guests.
