Teeth whitening at home
This is one of the best purchases I ever made! I had these for a few years now and absolutely love them. They fit perfectly and whiten really nicely. There is no reason to pay more at the dentist when you can get them here for a fraction of the price. Worth every penny!
Great product for a fraction of the cost
I ordered the whitening tray kit after reviewing several other sellers. At the time, this product was the least expensive found on Amazon.<br /><br />I received the kit within 3 days after placing my order. The molds were very easy to make. I did mess up on the first try. I ended up getting my teeth too close to the mold tray. The kit includes a third set of mold material in case there is a mistake made.<br /><br />I mailed the item back in the prepaid bubble package. It took about two and a half weeks before the completed trays arrived back in the mail.<br /><br />The trays fit perfectly! You can get these from the dentist with a faster turn around, but you will likely pay 5 times more.

The trays arrived in about 2 1/2 weeks, pretty quick. They fit perfect and work great. Very happy with this purchase.
The trays alone are worth buying this kit
In researching teeth whitening products on Amazon, it quickly became clear to me that a custom teeth whitening tray would be the best solution. My teeth are straight enough that my parents and I decided against my getting braces as a child, but they are crooked enough (especially my mostly-hidden bottom teeth) that I worried other whitening products (like white strips) would not whiten evenly.<br /><br />I went out on a limb and ordered this kit. At the time it was only $50 on Amazon. It came packaged as reported. I took my teeth impressions, the process was pretty easy, and sent them off to the lab in the pre-paid envelope. Then I crossed my fingers. I had every confidence that the initial package would arrive since it had the backing of Amazon, but I was a little dubious sending my impressions off to some random lab that's not affiliated with Amazon. I had decided just to wait until I got my customs trays to start using the whitening gel, rather than mess with the boil and bite trays.<br /><br />Well, it was over a month and I was beginning to lose hope that my teeth trays would ever come, when I got an email that my trays were on their way! I had no idea when I ordered this kit how long the trays would take, and I don't think a month or two is an unreasonable amount of time to wait... so that's why I'm writing this review, to let customers know that they should be prepared to wait several weeks for the trays to arrive. But they do arrive! And I'm very happy with the result. The fit is precise and snug.<br /><br />As for the 22% gel... I've been using it for about three weeks now, roughly 20 minutes to 30 minutes a day. It appears to have made my teeth brighter... not sure if it's made them all that much whiter. I'm a big coffee and tea drinker, so this gel is up against a lot of persistent staining. Looking up close in the mirror, I still see the yellow cast of my teeth stains, but the enamel underneath appears brighter. I'm probably going to try the 35% gel after I'm done with the gels that came with this kit.<br /><br />But that's okay, because I have custom trays, now, and even if the gel they came with isn't sufficient, the trays (which, as I understand, would have cost a few hundred dollars from a dentist) are worth the price of the kit. Now that I have them I can order any gels I want from Amazon.
Good but could be better
This kit is just what I needed. It was a great price, too! Especially compared to having to pay out the yin yang from the dentist for whitening gel and custom whitening trays. The gel is very gentle on gums and teeth but does whiten. I would like to see more improvement per treatment but I have bad staining from not taking care of my teeth at all for 8 or so years and smoking 2 packs a day on top of it. I did quit last year though but still had massive yellow staining.<br /><br />The kit comes with boil-and-bite trays which worked great for my top teeth but not so well on my bottom teeth as I have crowding in the front. But those trays were good to use while I waited for the custom trays to arrive at my doorstep. The kit also comes with 3 sets of impression material each set has blue and white material that you mix together quickly and then put in the plastic trays and you bit down on them and hold them steady for 4 minutes till it's set firm. Then you rinse the molds and mail it with the prepaid and pre-addressed envelope to ProWhite. It took exactly 2 weeks to send and receive them. I did get an email from GreenDot (the seller) saying that my trays were done and were mailed, which was nice.<br /><br />The 22% carbamide peroxide that makes up the whitening gel is very gentle on gums. I've tried another product which was a generic off-brand of aquafresh white trays and it burned the HELL out of my gums. Oh it was awful, but this stuff doesn't even burn or cause any stinging which is wonderful! I leave my trays in for 30 minutes to one hour and see a noticeable difference in the whiteness of my teeth after every treatment. Not a huge difference but it is noticeable.<br /><br />The custom trays could have been made better. I checked my molds and actually re-did one of them because the gum line wasn't right, wasn't clear enough in the mold material. The custom trays are not cut along the gum line but above the gum line in a straight line. I've heard that doing that helps keep the trays on your teeth better than those cut along the gum line. The trays are very flexible. The gum lines aren't perfect on the trays making me think that the person who poured the stone into the mold didn't do it well enough or something, but to be honest you get what you pay for... A price this good will have some setbacks. I did get to keep the stone molds of my teeth though. They came in the envelope with the trays on the molds. Cool.<br /><br />Anyway, all in all this has been a wonderful experience. I would buy this kit again if I needed to, I highly recommend it.
