I bought these clips for my 5 month old which unfortunately I don't think they're age appropriate for. Under the chiffon flower the actual clip itself is somewhat sharp and has teeth-like edges to better hold hair in place. The clips are well made and true to pictures advertised. They are a great purchase just not for a 5mo old with thin hair. When she gets a little older I'm confident I'll use them all the time.
