Great safety razor.
I love safety razors. They give a closer shave and the replacement blades are so much cheaper than disposable...and better for the environment. My last safety razor my daughter confiscated, so I needed a new one. I love the rose gold color. Blade change is an absolute breeze. This is sturdy construction and I feel confident that this will last years...as long as my other daughter doesn't confiscate it.<br /><br />* I base my own purchases on customer reviews. Blown away by the quality of this double edge safety razor! Better than brand name!
My husband uses this kind of razor because he's committed to sustainability and doesn't like the disposable ones. For a long time he has had a shorter travel double edge safety razor from a brand name that's pretty well rated. I suggested that we get him a new razor of this type because he only has the one, which he kept leaving at his family's, and then his beard would grow out for a week! Easier just to get a new one and we were curious to try this non travel one and see if it stacked up.<br /><br />The rose gold color is really pretty in my opinion and really stands out. It doesn't look feminine or anything, just almost like a light copper. It has the same kind of grip banding on the handle that we've seen on other razors but it's really well done. It doesn't look shoddy or imperfect and has a nice hefty feel to it.<br /><br />We didn't want to use the included razors so we can't comment on that but my husband was blown away by how much better this razor was! We're not sure what it is exactly since he doesn't have a lot of experience with different kinds versus the one he's been using for years. He was really surprised how much of a difference it made in being able to shave more quickly like those pros on Youtube.<br /><br />He's still perfecting his shave technique double edged safety razors and we're watching Youtube channels to learn more techniques but the brand apparently makes a huge difference. This is a really surprisingly high quality razor given the quality, brand, and price.<br /><br />The only thing we noticed is that for some reason small hairs would build up under that razor more versus his old one but we're still figuring it out and the ease of use is worth it for now.
Good looking, aggressive razor - be careful!
This is a solid, attractive razor with a screw-off top and machine grooved handle to add grip when holding with a wet or soapy hand. It has a very appealing brass / copper appearance, contrasting nicely with stainless steel. It comes with a pack of double edged razors, but I loaded it up with a [[ASIN:B08P5K9GMJ Feather blade]], and it shaved very well, but with a very careful and light touch.<br /><br />The razor angle is a bit more open and a hair steeper than a [[ASIN:B004VBISXU Merkur 25-C]] or the [[ASIN:B01LQ95IGE Bevel razor]], so a very careful light touch is needed. I know that Feathers are extremely sharp, but using them in this razor gave me plenty of weepers (small cuts) on my lower neck where the previously mentioned razors do not. That's not necessarily a bad thing - some folks prefer a more aggressive razor. It's an adjustment to make if you're used to other types of safety handles.<br /><br />So be aware this is a somewhat stronger shave - if this is your first safety razor, you'll probably spend your first few mornings looking like you had a fight with an alley cat for a little while. And if you're used to the other kinds of fixed top screw-off safety handles, this will require an adjustment.<br /><br />Still in all, a comfortable, good looking, properly balanced and weighted razor. At this price, it's definitely worth a try.
