Beautiful Razor

I had never even heard of SHASH prior to my seeing this razor here on Amazon. Like most, I had been looking at Parker, Merkur, Vikings Blade, Earnest James, etc. to replace my nine year-old Parker 96R razor. BTW, the Parker 96R is still working perfectly, and the only wear and tear can be seen on the black handle. I also made the change from a butterfly razor to the more classic three-piece razor. For some reason, I thought I would never buy any razor that wasn't a butterfly type. Then it slowly dawned on me that the three-piece style ain't rocket science to put together. And, sure enough, after receiving this SHASH Dean Collection razor, I have learned it's almost as easy as the butterfly style. Plus, you get a very tight and secure closure when you screw the head piece(s) & blade to the handle. I am using Wilkinson blades, and only because I like them - this razor, of course, can use any DE razor blade. In fact, this razor comes with a generous supply of 30 Astra blades which I will try at some point. All in all, I am very pleased and impressed with this SHASH razor and its craftsmanship. Hopefully it will last another nine years with no need for replacement like my old, trusty Parker 96R. (BTW, check out the difference in the underside of the two razors. Notice how the SHASH underside is an upward arc, whereas the Parker 96R and the majority of DE razors are a downward arc. I notice that the upward arc gently pulls up the skin and hair immediately prior to cutting with the blade, resulting in a more pronounced "sound" of cutting. Sounds crazy I know, but it's true. In any case, a BBS shave results.) The length of this razor is 4 3/8".
