Great for dogs!
I saw this brush and it raved reviews on dogs hair....so, I thought it might work on horses mane and tail. (I have a heck of a time finding a horse brush that works well thru snarls and knots). This brush took off the ice and snow off the tail really well but does not work just to brush thru the thick tail and mane hair on horses. It works really well on my dogs' hair but they are all relatively short haired dogs. I am really anxious to use it this summer after my dogs have been working in the feed lots, pastures, running through sloughs and weeds to see if it works as well as it says. Brushing off caked on mud will be the real test. We have feet of snow everywhere, so it will be months before it gets the real test. Stay tuned!
Great Pet Grooming Tool
This is a well-made pet grooming tool. Although it's listed for dogs, we found that our cats love it too!! We have a larger short-haired cat, and as long as we are gentle, he absolutely loves to be brushed with it. Our smaller long-haired cat also loves it, and it helps to work out the mats that develop on his sides. I definitely recommend this tool!
Easy to hold, lots of teeth
This brush does a good job of removing loose fur from my dog. My dog seems to like being brushed with it.

Works for cats, too.
We have a tiny teacup poodle who gets super matted if her hair isn't kept short and brushed frequently. My daughter managed to lose the last brush we had and so I wanted to try this one out.<br /><br />It works so well! I've trimmed her hair fairly short and am brush it everyday and it is keeping all the mats out. The larger surface is helpful, even though she's tiny she doesn't always have the patience to sit beyond when her treats last. Yes, I bribe her.<br /><br />I've started using this brush to also brush my kitten. She has longish hair, I suppose it would be considered medium length and it's very thick. I don't have to bribe her, she seems to enjoy being brushed. But I do give her treats anyway ; ). Any excuse to spoil her.<br /><br />So, this was a great choice and I love that I can use it for both. Next is to try it on my kitten's sister.
Great for removing shedding hair
This wire brush works great for my dogs and cats. They all enjoy being brushed and they really like the scratchiness the metal wire provides. You can brush them a lot before having to stop to remove the hair. I would highly recommend this to others looking for a great quality pet brush.
I'm Impressed Enough to Write About It
One of our cats has a problem with furballs, so we have tried and used a variety of grooming items, with probably five different slicker brushes alone. A lot of the success with a grooming device depends on if the animal is comfortable and happy with the grooming, and one cat allows it while the tummy troubled one loves it. The cat that allows this slicker brush dislikes almost every version of grooming, so Iโm massively impressed. The other cat now seeks out being brushed and is quite insistent when someone sits near this brush versus his other usual grooming spot with a different item. The bristles are quite strong, so if you have sensitive skinned hands, Iโd recommend using an oven mitt or something similar when removing hair. I prefer dog brushes because theyโre usually larger, which works better on my cats usually, and this slicker has one of the largest brush areas out of all of the large brushes I have tried. I didnโt think Iโd be impressed enough with a grooming tool to want to write a review, but for something so simple, this is a really well-done slicker brush.
Strong brush!
Used this on my cats and it worked really well. They shed a lot so Iโm happy this brush is of good quality.
