It has 3 volume levels, and an on/off switch. | Place bed pad under lower sheet, at back or buttock level. Place chair pad on seat of chair. When they sit up, or take their weight off the pad, the alarm will start to chime! | Pads are high quality, incontinence resistant, and carry a one year manufacturer's warranty. Peace of Mind for Caregivers
This works just as described. I was concerned that my frail elderly mom, who has dementia, might fall in the night (without me being aware of it) if she woke up and attempted to navigate to the bathroom on her own. The bed pad was super easy to put in place, and sounded an alarm when she got out of bed. Once I knew that it worked well, I was able to relax and sleep much better--which is an important plus for a person who is already dealing with the multiple stresses of being a full-time caregiver.<br />I did wish that the volume level was a little more adjustable; on the lowest 'chime' setting, it was still kind of loud for my needs if I kept the alert device in my bedroom. But actually there are a few options to choose, so it's still pretty good in that respect. I just ended up keeping it outside my bedroom door--it still woke me up just as needed, but didn't startle me so much.
