I've had 1 jar for over a year

I use this product on my self and my two daughters when we want to do wash and go's. Per the list of ingredients it is many waxes and moisturizers used to seal in the moisture the hair needs to maintain a curl so, yes it feels like a thick waxy pomade but once dried (and if applied properly) there is no flaking or white residue left behind.. what works for us is using after lightly rinsing conditioner out but not fully leaving the hair slightly "squishy". Then using a measuring spoon scoop out 1-2 tablespoons (depending on length of hair) and separate that measured amount for the separated sections of hair.. adding a few drops of your favorite hair oil to each portion while in hand will make it almost lather up a bit to make it easier to work through hair... this is a buildable curl control so refreshing with a little product every shower helps keep style till wash day. This can also act as a heat protectant/frizz reducer if instead of washing out completely on wash day you pre-poo, leaving trace amount of product so when you blow dry and flat iron its stays straighter for longer. Although the price might seem hefty considering all the other products it replaced and how long 1 jar lasted the 3 of us it is definitely worth it. We kept it sealed and made sure not to leave hair or water in the jar and it seemed as fresh as the day we bought it the whole time. This is also a great product for summertime fun when used regularly as my teenager uses it at all the water parks and it does not wash out in the pool water like other products and helps maintain some kind of curl control even in chlorinated water.. It takes a little practice but once you get in the routine this product is amazing!!
