I pre wash them 3/4 of the way down from the tape before installing them.
I bought just one pack to add some lighter pieces to my hair. So far they have stayed in after the first wash. I also like to pre wash them ( 3/4 of the way down from the tape) before Installing them so I get good feel of how muchbthey will expand. It helps blend them better.
