Excellent, natural moisturizing oil
This is an excellent quality oil in a really generous size. A little bit goes a long way, so this bottle will probably last for months even if you use it as a facial and body oil. If you apply it generously, it does leave a bit of an oily feel that lasts a while, so it's an excellent nighttime moisturizer, when you can use a good amount without worrying about how it looks. When I use it at bedtime, I wake up with my skin still feeling soft and hydrated. It can definitely be used during the day, but more sparingly. I have very dry skin, so I need a good lubricant whenever the weather is hot and dry, or very cold, and will definitely use this during the day under those conditions. On dry skin, used moderately it absorbs well. This oil is excellent for use on the delicate skin around your eyes regardless of weather conditions, because that is the the thinnest area that's so much more prone to wrinkles and early aging. It hasn't irritated my eyes at all, even though they are sensitive, partly due to dryness problems. I don't use this oil on my hair because it is silver/white and I don't know if it would yellow my hair over time, but this is an excellent moisturizer for everywhere else and I'd definitely recommend it.
Seems to be the real deal
Rosehip oil is in my top 5 favorite oils to use on my skin and nails, top 10 for my hair. Unfortunately, buying non food grade oils always seems to be a bit of a gamble as there aren't any regulations or standards in place to ensure a product is what it claims to be. Except for meeting the qualifications to be labeled organic.<br /><br />I've tried several different brands and I do believe the Tropical Holistic brand of Rosehip Seed oil is 100% rosehip seed oil and doesn't contain any other oils and isn't diluted. I'm basing that assessment on good results and comparison with previous brands.<br /><br />This oil had a light almost nutty scent, it was almost odorless, but not quite. it was a pale amber color, and low to medium viscosity.<br /><br />Rosehip oil is one of the "oilier" beauty oils. What I mean is, it tends to take it a but longer to be absorbed into the skin than a dry oil. So, I like to use this after my evening shower as a body oil. I think this would make a great massage oil, as well. It's a little too thick to use it as part of my morning skin routine, but I have used it on the ends of my hair in the mornings with good results. It really helps tame the frizz and flyaways on humid days, but it is a little heavy for everyday use.<br /><br />This is priced a little higher than other options for sale on Amazon, but I think it's worth the price. I feel confident that I'm actually getting the product that's promised, and it's organic. Personally, I think this is a great item to add to your collection of beauty products.
Smells nice, is easy to apply, and absorbs well.
I like this oil. With skin care I try to stay as natural as possible. As I have gotten older I also try to stay with pure oils as much as possible.<br /><br />Some people may think rosehip oil will smell like roses. It is not flowery - rather more earthy - more tea like, to me anyway. I like the smell. Kind of fresh and earthy. Not bad at all.<br /><br />This stuff goes on smoothly and easily and absorbs into my skin very nicely. I don't use it during the day under makeup or to work as I have my sunscreen moisturizer routine down pat there. But this is great for the evening or a weekend at home. A little goes a long way as well so the bottle should last me quite a while. It leaves my skin dewy and soft. I really like it. LOVE that it is ORGANIC and cold-pressed!
