Great Product
This is a great product for a smooth shave and a great lather for a close shave. The fragrance is gret also.
Shaving Cream for True Aficionados
I love my morning shave - it's a ritual for me. Dunking my razor and brush in warm water every morning, working up a good lather, and shaving is such a blissful experience. If you are serious about your skin, but a good shaving cream. Trufitt and Hill is one of the best. I did a lot of research before I bought it. It actually gives you a very close shave. The aroma is deep and masculine.
PS: It lasted me 6 months and I shave everyday.
Makes shaving a joy
A must have! Smells great, makes tons of lather, makes skin soft, prevents nicks due to drag. It's perfect !
How much should the best cost?
In short, this is THE best shaving cream/soap/gel/foam I have ever had the joy of using. Period.

Here is the situation: I have a really thick, course, wiry beard combined with ultra sensitive skin. Quite possibly the worst combination of factors when it comes time to shave. The result has been a life-long (25+ years of shaving) quest for the best combination of products, hoping to produce a smooth shave that doesn't leave leave my face resembling a slab of meat. I have tried practically every method and product known to man, short of ritual sacrifice. Some products worked well, some were abysmal, but I always wondered if there was "something better" and would eventually move on from the latest greatest. Then I found this product about a year ago. I am finished looking for a better cream/soap/gel/foam.

Metrics: I shave in the shower, after I have washed my face. I use a safety razor with Feather blades. I sometimes use shaving oil, but only if I have more than 4 days of growth. The cream is applied using a super badger brush.

First, the scent of this product only lasts about 10 minutes after shaving, so it isn't too perfumicatious. The lather this produces is unbelievable. My previous benchmarks were Proraso and the Art of Shaving, both great products that did the job. This stuff is in a completely different realm. You don't so much work the cream into the brush as much as just wave the shaving brush over the top of the tub once or twice, gathering up shaving cream fumes. That is all you need to produce more than enough lather. I suspect backward engineered alien technology is in play here.

The quality of the resulting shave is beyond belief. Nothing more to say about that.

Yeah, but what about the cost? My first round of Trufitt & Hill lasted about a year. No kidding. A can of average foamy at your local store comes to about $3.50. If that can lasts you 6 weeks, you will use about 8 of those in a year, equalling $28. $28 for a year of horrible shaves, or spend about that same amount for a year of baby bottom skin with no irritation. The choice is yours.
One of my standards.
T&H, Trumper, Castle & Forbes, Taylor...line a few jars up for a shaving rotation...they're all good. I have my personal preferences, you will, too, but they're all good. A good shaving cream, a fine brush, a good blade...very subjective on which one an individual will prefer...and even preferences will undergo changes.
Make shaving enjoyable. Buy a "real" razor, learn to make scraping hair fun.
Good stuff
This is some of the best cream for ensuring a very close shave allowing the face to withstand the rigors of daily shaving.
Brilliant Shaving Cream
Truefitt & Hill Lavender is such a joy to use, it is downright therapeutic. A little bit goes a long way, and it's easy to create a nice lather. It feels very smooth and soothing. I get a close shave with little irritation. My skin feels better hydrated after using this than with most shaving creams.

Fragrance: The primary note is lavender, as you might have guessed. This lavender is masculine, and there is a bit of a "barbershop" smell. The effect is very relaxing and calming. This is not the sharp, pungent, synthetic lavender that you get with many cheap men's fragrances and grooming products. It is cool, natural smelling, and "round".

So far, this is the best cream I've used. It is also the most expensive, but well worth it. Other good choices are Proraso (not as good, but great price) and Taylor of Old Bond Street (close to the same shave quality, cheaper, smells decent). I have not tried Geo F. Trumper yet, so can't offer a comparison to that.
A must have
I try on occasion to find something else
but without fail I keep coming back.
I give up, just going to not wander again
