...but they WORK.
These are the only pins that stay in my hair. It was a running joke in my family that for weeks after my visits, they'd uncover bobby pins EVERYWHERE. I knew I was constantly losing them, but figured that's why they were so inexpensive & subsequently "the name of the game". It wasn't until I was sitting on a metal train and heard a *ting* on the wall that I realized my thick hair was literally spitting them out. Couldn't make this up if I tried, btw. These Vera Bradleys, however, are a little thicker & have nice tension. Once upon a time, it would take two, maybe six pins criss-crossed in a woven vice grip to hold (for the most part) one side of my hair up. Now, I can get away with one, perhaps two if I'm skydiving... hahh. ;) Point is, you might think these are excessive and purely decorative, but let me assure you that the form is backed by function.
