Fabulous quality for an inexpensive, synthetic wig. I'm giving this wig 5 stars because it's so adorable, is of very nice quality and looks exactly as it does in the online picture. This is my first experience with a wig and I'm planning to just wear it on "bad hair days." I'm letting my hair grow back from a not-so-great hair cut and I don't do well with some of the awkward "stages" associated with growing one's hair out.<br /><br />Before using, I gently washed the wig with a few drops of mild, shampoo in warm water, and followed that, in the same way, with the conditioner product that came with that shampoo. I gently soaked it again in clean warm water, as the conditioner is a rinse-out type, then wrapped it in a terry towel to blot out most of the water, after which it air dried it on an open construction wig stand. With super gentle handling, it came out looking perfect.<br /><br />I like my hair to be more sleek and smooth than puffy and wispy, so I even finished the little wig's salon treatment with a tiny bit of my favorite coconut pomade smoothed on with my fingers. Worked like a charm and looks great!<br />A major plus for this wig is that it has never shed at all through washing and subsequent styling. Several other inexpensive synthetic wigs warn that they will shed at first, and they do. Key concept here is: for optimal effect, be gentle, especially when brushing.<br /><br />One challenge is that, like a couple of similar wigs I tried but did not keep, the inner woven cap is too big for my head. So, I took a few hand stitches in the nape area of the inner cap to shorten the distance of the cap from the front hair line to the nape area. That's where the problem is for me. It worked because the wig's hair is not really very thick and the cap is made of a wide-weave, soft mesh in the back, allowing me to create a one-inch, horizontal tuck across the whole back, between where the cap meets the ears. Don't know how long this will hold up, but inexpensive wigs like this one are not expected to last for ever, anyway.<br /><br />And, I'll just repeat that this wig's hair is actually rather thin, so that if the color of your own hair does not readily blend in well with the color of the wig (for example, light blonde wig over dark brown natural hair) you could find some dark hair showing through, especially in the back. Mine is close enough that I'm not experiencing this. So, it's all good and tons of fun!
