This product gets a lot of mixed reviews and that’s probably because people have the wrong idea as to what this mask actually does. At first my expectations were completely off too. It’s a peel off mask so I’m expecting to pull something out expect “What? It didn’t pull anything out at all!” However, the one thing that made me rethink this mask was that even though it didn’t pull anything physical out of my face I did notice these tiny little white spots on the peeled mask and at first I thought they were air bubbles. The next time I used it, I made sure I didn’t have any air bubbles, one slick, black, mask. When I peeled it off again, there they were! Little white spots that are slightly translucent, then it finally clicked. This mask is called Sebum Out! It says nothing about blackheads or whiteheads removal, its meant to tackle sebum (precursor to black/white heads) which is oily/waxy so if the mask is to pull anything out… it’s not going to be anything with a physical shape hence those translucent little spots!<br /><br />Now with that cleared up, it’s a totally different kind of review! It is very soothing. It’s got a thick gooey consistency and spreads pretty easily. Bare in mind that the thinner you apply this on your face the harder it is to take off. My rule is to apply enough that I no longer see my skin tone coming from underneath the mask. It’s shiny black and smells somewhat minty but very light and the rest of the scent borders medicinal/earthy which isn’t bad or anything. After you apply it, its very cooling and minty. It takes a bit of time to dry completely especially if some areas have a thicker application. The peeling process is pretty painless and easy, slow and steady though. Overall it’s a pleasant experience.
