Not matte or drying. Goes on smooth
Fantastic quality matte black lipstick, with great depth that lasts
Thick, velvet smooth and beautiful, this lipstick is some of the best I've ever tried. This stuff is very similar to Wet n Wild's "Mega Last" lipstick, which is also excellent -- the texture is almost identical and so is the lifespan, up to a couple hours if careful before reapplication is needed to keep the colour full and deep. The "Pagan Angel" black is stunning and rich, and it builds well onto the lips for full coverage. The taste and smell is completely neutral.<br /><br />I really, really recommend this lipstick.<br /><br />You might be hesitant to try this stuff if you've ever used the "Fantasy Makers" black lipstick, a Wet n Wild Halloween/Costuming sub-brand, which doesn't build at all and shows through your natural lip colour a lot, has an odd smell, and doesn't last -- but their main brand lipsticks are worlds better.<br /><br />The "Fergie" black lipstick is the best black lipstick I've tried so far, I can't recommend it enough. If you find that you like the "Fergie" branded lipsticks, definitely try Wet n Wild's "Mega Last" as well, it's almost identical with a different line-up of colours.
Quality matte black lipstick
If you're looking for a black lipstick, don't be scared off by the Wet 'n' Wild name. WnW does make some pretty cheaply made Halloween lipsticks, but this lipstick is nothing like that. It's truly black, creamy if slightly drying (it dries matte), doesn't run even without lipliner for me, has nice coverage, and lasts a while. It does start to rub off with eating and drinking, in my experience, but it's not extremely noticeable. Like most lipsticks, the color just fades as your natural lip color shows through, which in this case means it gradually gets grayer. But it definitely lasts longer than most dark lipsticks I've worn, and I don't mind occasionally reapplying.

I never wore black lipstick before, so I was a little nervous, but when it comes to lipstick colors I am quite darn daring if it looks good with my complexion.<br />You definitely want to make sure your lips are exfoliated with a little balm on them to keep them supple, but the lipstick is not hard to apply since it is pretty moist. I like to add a deep lip liner to give it a base and add some dimension. I noticed when I wear it the color kinda dried to a semi-matte look, which looks very nice. As far as it's long lasting wear when eating or drinking I am not really sure since I didn't eat much when wearing it.<br />I wore this for Halloween, but I could definitely see myself wearing it for a night out too! I am African American, so it wouldn't look too vampy on me. Also, I used my MAC lip liner in "night moth" with the lipstick and those colors together made it look like a dupe for MAC's Cyber lipstick!

Nice but not without its flaws...
I like this lipstick it is defiantly a pure dark black. But it has a couple flaws, it's shiny so if your going for a matte look lipstick this isn't it. You also have to layer it on pretty thick for the color to look even and to get it the nice dark black its suppose to be. The shipping was pretty fast though it arrived within a few days. I'd say it's a decent black for what it's worth and if you can deal with the shine and layering it on it works good for everyday use.
