First time safety razor user

First time using this razor today, no cuts on face and head. YAY. Being a first time user safety razor user, on a 2 day growth, it took me a lot longer to shave than normal. This was due to no experience and experimenting with different blade adjustment levels. Starting out on 1 and it barely took of any stubble. Found 4 to be acceptable. I eventually went to 8 after getting the hang of controlling the pressure and angle. A very close shave indeed. I hope with practice I can get quicker. I do shave my entire head and was worried about cutting my dome, it worked great.<br /><br />I don't use soap to shave, I've found a shave gel like oil that beats anything I have ever used it's target market is for women. Tree Hut bare Moisturizing Shave Oil, Basic, Coconut-Lime, 7.7 Fl Oz.<br /><br />So far happy with my purchase, and using a safety razor.
