Woolzies has outdone themselves yet again with their 100% Sweet Almond Oil!! I can not say an adequate number of glorious things about this stuff!I use it for everything ranging from homemade face scrub, shampoo, and moisturizer… to body mist, massage oil, lip balm, and shaving cream!! I have mixed it with homemade pet shampoo, added to foot soak, combed it through wet or damp hair and FINALLY MY LATEST OBSESSION…<br /><br />BLENDING IT INTO MY SMOOTHIES!!<br />YUP! When I make smoothies with a great deal of vitamin K (such as kale) or pro-vitamin A (such as carrots or apricots) the sweet almond oil (Excellent Source of MUFAs) improves the absorption of these fat-soluble nutrients into my body!<br />It also contains a truckload of vitamin E (Antioxidant) which aids in boosting the immune system, supports a healthy inflammatory response and benefits as a cicatrizant, “ A medicine or application that promotes the healing of a sore or wound, or the formation of a cicatrix. [1913 Webster]”<br /><br />So yeah… this stuff is truly badass! BEST PART... this particular sweet almond oil is extremely mellow in fragrance and flavor. In fact, if I were not the one blending together the ingredients I would be oblivious to its existence in the mix.<br /><br />In any case…I read a review that claimed the scent or flavor of this oil was not the finest, which perhaps could be the ‘pseudo truth’ IF someone was expecting an intensely rich almond essence. (This is what would be found in bitter almond oil. Actually known as almond essential oil)<br /><br />Nevertheless, the ‘aroma/flavor’ or better yet, the lack there of, contained within this particular oil is precisely what I look for when I purchase a product that can be incorporated into my diet or included in so many personal products. My intent is such that I can exercise full control over the fragrance or flavor of my creations. Typically I do so by mixing in some of my favorite essential oils, dried herbs or citrus zests.<br /><br />In sum, I’ve tolerated many but valued only a few products as much as I do this oil. It has earned its place among my officially declared ‘household staple items’! For its versatility, benefits and purity Woolzies 100% Pure Sweet Almond Oil has officially won me over!
Soft skin and healthy hair...
I was expecting the scent from this to overpower me but to my surprise it doesn't. It has a faint sweet smell but you kind of have to really strain smell senses to get anything out of it. You can add essential oils to it to make it have more of aroma but then I felt like that would defeat the purchase. However, there are a lot of individuals who prefer a stronger base scent. I am pretty chill about how strongly something smells unless it is coconut or pumpkin. I poured some of this into my shampoo bottle and let me just say that WOW! I have been able to tell a difference in my hair! It is full of bounce, it is shinier, and I have not been scratching my scalp as much. Another use that I have gotten from this sweet oil, is that I massage my hubby's knee. He hurt is at work a few weeks ago and where he works third, he doesn't really have time to attend any therapy. So after he gets out of the shower, I will pour a little in my hand and rub my hands together to warm the oil. Then I will apply it to his knee and massage his knee for him. He has enjoyed it and has stated that it feels a little better. Of course it isn't going to cure him but the massage and working of the muscles is helping him. The oil allows me to have that warm friction and also moisturizes his knee. You can also make a homemade scrub with this oil, do an all over massage, and to be honest the list is endless due to the diversity of almond oil.<br /><br />I did receive this item for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. Only gave 4 stars because the oil smelled like cooking oil but not sure if deteriorated due to the heat on the delivery truck and sitting on our porch for a little while in 90+ degree heat. I added some lavender oil to it to help with the scent. So far it seems to be a good product. My hair absolutely loves it! Makes it soft and shiny without being greasy. Same with using it as an all over body moisturizer. My skin is softer and looks healthier without feeling greasy. For an oil, it doesn't make my hands slick which is nice. Will probably buy again.
